"Rubbish appointments system"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

Anything else?

13 June 2013 the Cardiologist at my last appointment said he wanted to see me again in four months time this would have been 5th July 2013 I got a letter at the end of May asking me to ring the appointments centre, which I did and, after checking my records and confirming that I was due on the 4th July offered an appointment on the 22nd.! I explained that I already had an appointment with a consultant at Huddersfield hospital on that day for another matter which could not be dealt with at Dewsbury, and which had been booked 10 weeks earlier and the times were too close for me to attend both hospitals, and was told that there were no further appointments available and that I would be referred back to the clinic (what clinic?) until new dates were released. I do not wish to go into my clinical details, but the last time that my pulse rate was this high i was admitted through A&E - is this what they want me to do again?

The process would be that cardiology would be advised that you needed a review appointment and you would be offered an appointment in line with your clinical priority when these become available.
