After having my first daughter at the general I transferred to St Mary's for my postnatal care and was extremely pleased with my decision. So much so that I chose to have my second daughter at St Mary's. The care I received throughout my Labour was outstanding, with the perfect balance of midwife attention and alone time with my husband prior to the birth of our baby. I was made to feel 100% in control of all the decisions throughout the birth and was given thorough information about all options available to me. After the safe arrival of our daughter I transferred to the ward and the care continued to be exceptional. Despite it being the early hours, I was settled in and supported by the night staff, they truly are angels helping me to successfully breastfeed and offering much needed reassurance when my LO wouldn't sleep. The day staff followed suit and were fantastic with me, my daughter and my husband. The ward is spotless, the food is delicious and the staff are outstanding. St Mary's is an asset to the NHS and does not receive enough recognition for the work they do there. I have some very jealous friends around the country who are not lucky enough to have similar facilities available to them. I would recommend St Mary's birthing centre to anyone having a baby in the area.
"Amazing place to have a baby and receive postnatal..."
