"Miscarraige misadventure"

About: Broomfield Hospital

Anything else?

At 8.30 last night I started to bleed heavily. The bleeding got heavier and I lost tissue which looked very much to be a miscarriage.I was hysterical as I have never experienced anything like this before. We called an ambulance. The first gentleman to come to our home was absalutely fantastic in every possible way.I was shaking, dizzy,in shock. He gave me a bag of water through a drip, was very polite and had fantastic bed side manner. The ambulance was 18 miles away afterr we had been waiting around half an hour.By the time they had arrived an hour had passed. The lady and gentleman came were ok,they commented on the computer style, they were probably just trying to change the subject. On the way there the ambulance lady talked to me about her life ,and how hard it was as a single mum,I appreciate her story though I really didn't feel well. When I got to the hospital. The ambulance staff waited with me.As I waited there was a young girl in a bad state as they took the girl in,they began to talk and whisper about her,I felt uncomfortable.I was feeling dehydrated, sickly and ignored. Once on the A and E I was put into a room.I focused on staying calm and patient as I waited. My legs were covered in blood, and the pad I was wearing was leaking alott. When the lady came in to taske my blood, she sterny asked me what was happening, when I went to tell her she said ''What!!''in a very rude way.I went quiet and told her nothing more.I asked when she put in the needle,to tell me so that I could take a deep breath, she laughed and said ''why would you do that''.I felt embarrassed and that I was an inconvienience.with the hard cold fact that I had just lost my baby playing through my mind.Tears began to fall. After a while,2 nurses came to take me up to a ward.I was given a gown,an arm bracelet.I wished someone could tell me where I was going, what would happen, but I understod perhaps they were busy.As they walked me they made complaints to eachother about certain members of staff, about their backs hurting from having to take me.They didnt know the whereabouts of the early pregnancy ward,so they walked me sometime before finding it.As we got there, they parked the trolley to the right and asked me if I could get up and walk into the check up room as the trolley was too much for them.I was wobbley on my feet,a staff member did hold my arm. The dr came and sternly told me I had experienced a miscarriage. They gave me an internal, they were very well mannered with the internal. It was around 2 in the morning. My partner rang, when he asked me they had a go at him for calling the ward, even though he had been put through there by A and E.When the dr had finished. They told me to go home.I explained that I didn't have any transport. They looked at me sternly and went quiet. They went away and came back and said I would have to get a taxi.I was still shaky and bleeeding heavily. Also for some reason no one ever did bring me a drink of water.I was cold too.
