Anything else?
I was told on the phone that booking a wheelchair was not available or necessary as at the main entrance wheel chairs were available "just like supermarket trolleys". I had only to put in a £1 coin and I could use the wheelchair. On arrival with a 93 year old unable to walk without considerable pain and registered disabled , I was told at Reception that there were no wheel chairs available and this had been a problem for many weeks. I asked a porter in the corridor and he said wheel chairs were "rarer thatn hen's teeth". The Trust is in breach of the Disability Discrimination Act and as I have to vist again on Thursday this week with the same severely disabled man I will take the Trust to court if wheel chairs are not available. I again asked at Reception if I could book a wheel chair but was told that I could not. The Trust needs to address this as a matter of urgency.
