"Lost dentures !"

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My mum, who is in her 90s, is in hospital. After missing her broken hip for 3 weeks they did a half hip replacement successfully, only to then let her fall out of bed (twice! ), to cap it all they have lost her upper dentures!

This is a nightmare as she can hardly eat or talk properly - the dental hospital is next door but cannot offer a mobile service and the primary care trust mobile service don't think she is an emergency and will have to wait approx 4 months. She is frail and becoming more so daily, will starving to death constitute an emergency?

What happened to common sense and compassion? I am and will fight this as I believe it is an avoidable situation!
