"Tonsilitis: Quickest appointment two weeks later"

About: Stafford Hospital / Paediatrics Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

My son, 4, was referred by GP for tonsillitis. Two weeks later I went back to GP no contact made by TRAQS.

TRAQS said he was on emergency and would contact when it was his turn, if I wanted him treated as emergency appointment to consult doctor. Doctor receptionist sorted it.

TRAQS contacted me next day. Quickest appointment was Staffordshire hospital two weeks later and an hours journey in a car.

Hi, we managed to get him an operation date for 9 may which was really quick, unfortunately he had tonsillitis on date of op and couldn't have it.

It has taken three weeks to get a new appointment due to staff member in charge being sick and no one to cover. Appointment now is July crossing fingers his well enough as his had five courses of antibiotics since last date to get him better so far.

Just frustrating how long its took to get next date.
