"my dad has been left in wet bedding not not given fluids"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

He was admitted at the end of April 2013 after being found on floor by my husband. It was obvious to us he had had a stroke. Was moved off admissions the following day onto ward c8. They had earlier diagnosed my dad with a water infections n pneumonia. He was very confused so mentioned it to staff who said if it doesn't improve he will go for a brain scan. This showed my dad had actually had a stroke. He was in this ward for 12 days and in all that time wad not seen once by anyone from the stroke team. I find this utter bewildering.

No doctor came to see me or my family to explain what had and was going to happen. I was told 3 times my dad was going to be moved to b2 but this never happened until the beginning of May when I threatened to put a complaint in. Lo and behold he was moved half an hour later. The stroke has left my dad incontinent, and unable to feed himself.

He weighed 60kg wen he first went in and now weighs 47. 3kg. He has been left in wet bedding, not been given the fluids he needs regularly. I could go on and on. By the way my dad is 90.
