"Horribly disappointed with Peterborough Hospital"

My son had several hypospadias surgeries/repairs as a baby through the urology team at Peterborough, this was back in 2001-2003. He has wet the bed constantly since then, now aged 13. They kept bringing him back in for procedures to try and open the end where he had the surgery which they said was too tight, but just at the tip. They also kept prescribing lots of different drugs (Summer 2012) resulting in him being off sick from school because they made him very ill, they kept telling me the bedwetting was unrelated to the surgery. In desperation this year I got my son referred to UCLH instead and they have had to reverse more or less all of the surgery done at Peterborough, they said it would definitely be affecting the bedwetting because the previous surgery had caused such a narrowing and not just at the tip. Already we are seeing a difference. I am so disappointed, this should have been picked up years ago, he has missed school trips and sleepovers and I was made to feel like a mother who was imagining things. A ten minute chat with a consultant every 6 months was not good enough, the urology team should have paid more attention and been more interested.
