About: Lister Hospital

Anything else?

I find that the service that I have received at the hospital is very disappointing as I have been referred that the hospital via NHS Direct. When I arrived at the clinic to get my problem resolved I was told that they can not do anything to help me and that I would have to go through my GP and that all they could offer me way stronger pain killers. I find that this type of comment as insulting as this will only mask the problem that I am having. The hole purpose of a hospital is to treat all types of illnesses and injuries. If I had a choice as to go to another hospital I would. Also I would not recommend anyone to go the this hospital as it seems to be getting worse. So the only way that I can see that I would get any service at this hospital is to break my bones in order to get a resolution to the pain that I have be in for the past two years.

We're really sorry that your experience of the Lister was not a good one, but if you wish to be seen by a specialist then the person who told you you would need to referred by your GP was right. Other than because of immediate life and/or limb-threatening illnesses, injuries or conditions, our doctors and nurses can only see patients referred to them by their GP - for good or for bad, it's how the NHS works. But if you wish your care by our A&E team to be investigated, then we will gladly do that for you - just email generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net
