About: Hillingdon Hospital

Anything else?

My partner was treated by all 3 departments and We are still frustrated and trying to sort problems out 3 days after her operation. We were not given any information about her treatment despite asking on more than one occaision. Most of the staff were trying to be helpful but were either unqualified or unwilling to make a decision about my partners care. On kennedy ward I pointed out to a staff Nurse that a heater in the day room appeared to have blood on it her answer was "its OK" , it is far from OK it is a serious health risk and the fact that a qualified nurse ignores such an obvious health risk is appalling. We lost an item of clothing and despite checking with both wards we could not find it and then we contacted PALS and were told its gone we have checked and nothing more can be done now thats what I call patient care. Have told my partner that if I get seriously ill to take me to our vet where I am sure I will get better care.

I was extremely sorry to hear how the nurse responded to you when you reported a blood stain on the radiator; it is my expectation that it would have been acknowledged and cleaned immediately. Your comments will be raised at our next ward meeting. If an item of clothing does go missing, it is sometime difficult to recover the item especially if it get included in the ward laundry. I am pleased that you felt that most staff were helpful, but sad that at times questions may not have been answered.
