"traumatized stay"

About: Peterborough City Hospital

Anything else?

I cannot fault the a&e department but as soon as I was moved to a ward which was the only one with a bed it was a different story. Often my medication was forgotten I had to remind the staff to give it to me, My room was not cleaned in the four days I was there although the bins were emptied daily, On having my first shower I tipped a chair over to get rid of the water on the top of it and dried blood and and something that should have gone down the toilet also something that resembled a maggot dropped to the floor I told a nurse and she came and scooped it all up in a towel and left, not bothering to clean the floor properly and as for the food well it all sounded lovely on the menu but I couldnt get a sandwich without butter nor a roast meal without gravy, the coffee was that weak and the the toast was that soft and soggy you couldnt chew it. Thank goodness for visitors and costa cafe.

I am both shocked and saddened to read your comments and would like to offer you my sincere apologies.. I am very keen to act on your comments with the ward manager and would really appreciate it if you could email me the details of which ward you were on so I can follow these points up with the relevant staff.

All of our wards are subject to stringent cleaning regimes and the effectiveness of the cleaning is something that is monitored by our Matrons. I am sorry however on this occasion the care you received was not up to the standard we would have expected.

If you were able to contact me I would really like to talk to you and I can be contacted on (01733) 677922 or by email on lesley.crosby@pbh-tr.nhs.uk.
