"Fracture clinic/plaster room visit"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

Anything else?

Appointment at fracture clinic for my (just) 3 year old son who had broken his elbow in 2 places 2 weeks previously. I was slightly annoyed at having to wait 2 weeks for this appointment as the temporary back slab cast was pretty much 'destroyed' by the antics of a 3 year old by this time! On booking in, the staff were polite but not 'chatty'. Waiting times were clearly displayed on doors in the fracture clinic itself - although they did appear to be slightly inaccurate. My sons appointment was only 15 minutes later than scheduled. We were greeted with enthusiasm by the consultant we saw - who not only communicated clearly with us, but also spoke directly with my 3 year old - explaining as simply as he could what he was going to do. We had ample time to ask questions which were answered without making us feel patronised or rushed. Plaster room staff - as ever - wonderful!! Fantastic at making us all feel at ease and confident in their abilities. Over all, a very positive experience on this occasion. Which I am really pleased about, as our last visits haven't been as good an experience.

Thank you for taking the time to comment and we're pleased you had a good, positive experience of using the Trust's services. Your comments will be passed onto the relevant members of staff in the fracture clinic and plaster theatre. They will be really pleased to see your feedback. Thank you once again and we hope your son is doing well.
