What could be improved
I came to A&E for a knee injury.
a. I was told the waiting time was 1.5Hrs. 5 Hrs later I leave the hospital
b. The nurse examining me is explaining to the doctor how she wants to do a "sports injury" course but has not had the time. Does not really instill confidence when she is the first person examining me for a sports injury?
c. The A&E doctor discharges me referring to me a "fracture" clinic - I have a ligament injury (not a fracture) - no splint or support was offered- especially as he suspected a cruciate ligament tear - this would have done more harm than good wlaking on it, no NSAID for a week (until I see the GP) was given, no information on booking an MRI (which properly identifies ligament injuries)
d. I note that the A&E manager explaining in the background that there has been a "breach" in my care - when asked no information is given.
"Nothing"
