"passed from pillar to post & no better off"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

Anything else?

I had an injury 15th dec 2011 on my wrist & have since been refered from one doctor to another, I have seen several doctors, surgeons' consultants & had several x-ray's & mri's & I have had 2 x cortisone injections & I was told i needed surgery several times but when I finally get to see a surgeon he then recommended injections again despite being told by another Dr that it will be more damaging having any more injections & the only option was surgery - I am annoyed that a consultant told me i needed surgery Jan 2012 & then when I was finally refered to a senior consultant i was told i only needed injections & now a year & a half later I have been told that i definitly needed surgery & then yet again when I have been refered to a surgeon again, I got told i need ultrasound therapy! it doesn't make sense! the only thing that is consistent is that I have de quervains tenosynvitus & I have been in agony for far too long! not to mention that my appointment some how got cancelled & now I have been told that the ultrasound therapy was never even ordered so now I am waiting to be seen by yet another consultant! it is not acceptable i have been in agony for the last year & a half & i still feel like i am getting fobbed off & sent from pillar to post! I originally went to lincoln hospital Dec2011-Jan2012, and then again Jan 2013 & March 2013.

Dear Bianca - your frustration is plain to see I am extremely sorry for your experience - I am also sorry that I am replying late to your story......I am wondering whether it may be useful for someone senior to review your care as you say you have been passed from pillar to post and told one thing and then another so a fresh view may be helpful. If you think this may be helpful could you contact me directly at: jennie.negus@ulh.nhs.uk and I will do all I can to help.
