"Dissapointing Incident"

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow)

Anything else?

I am currently a patient in Saunders Ward. I have just had to sit in the corridor to keep warm as a bossy member of staff insists on keeping the top windows open despite the fact that this results in a cold draught blowing across the ward. They are rushing around and I can only move slowly. I am aware of the benefits of fresh air, but I have neither day clothing no more night clothing to wear. I refuse to go to bed @ 1630 or sit with a blanket around me. I would stress that the majority of staff are kind, supportive & caring. I have countless examples of kindness & consideration. This however leaves me very annoyed and cold. Anthony Gilby

Dear Mr Gilby, The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is working hard to improve services and ensure patients receive high quality care the first time, every time and a cold draught should always be sorted out for you as soon as you raise it with staff. Thank you for your positive feedback too and I know the matron has now met you and sorted out the questions you had. If you have any future experiences where you believe we need to act on your feedback to improve or learn lessons for the future, please do ensure you leave a message here or contact the Patient Experience Team on 01279 82 70 84 and we will endeavour to assist as best we can.
