"MRI OPA"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Radiology

(as a parent/guardian),

An appointment was offered speedily, on a Saturday and arranged by phonecall.

Parking was therefore easy. With no instructions except to attend MRI we studiously looked for signs and found none.

We stood at the Treatment Centre doors where a handwritten sign told us to wait and the receptionist would open the doors. This we did for ten minutes whilst the receptionist continued to move her files around and glanced at us occasionally but offered nothing further. Therefore feeling that this lady was rude and with no other options, we walked away, wondering where to go next.

Being a nice quiet Saturday there was no-one to ask, so we made our way to Richard Salt building and the wards hoping there may be a sign here. No signs, but we found a porter who kindly gave us directions and told us to look for signs to main Xray. Feeling assisted and more confident we found our way, just as he had described, to main xray (thank you Mr porter).

Once inside main xray, amazingly, there was a sign for MRI but we now had an xray receptionist to guide us.

There was no wait and the MRI did not take long. We were soon on our way home. This could have been an excellent experience had there been signage to MRI.
