About: The Royal London Hospital For Integrated Medicine

Anything else?

Finally got an appointment as an outpatient after a seven month wait!! Maximum waiting time is 18 weeks apparently! Thought the light was at the end of the tunnel and my medical condition could finally be resolved as I was seeing the best specialists in the country.

My consultant was really nice and caring and seemed really eager to treat me as I had been left for so long and requested I have surgery three day later...handed the surgery form to a nurse at another department where I picked up some patient information leaflets who said she would sort it out...back to the other end of the country (home) I go. Next morning no call/letter with info regarding my impending surgery....make lots of calls and leave messages with numerous machines as passed from pillar to post after using the switchboard! Still no replies! Finally spoke to a lovely secretary the day before supposed surgery who was so helpful and managed to find out who I handed the form to and told me to leave my phone line free as I would receive a call back! No such luck..again left with no answers...day of surgery I again rang back leaving many messages to be told I'm now in an emergency waiting list and was never on a theatre list...Communication in this hospital needs to be addressed. To be told you were having surgery the very same week to now having to wait another month is a joke! You psych yourself up to be knocked down...luckily didn't pay for very expensive train tickets to get to the hospital!
