"Ward move a disaster"

About: Chapel Allerton Hospital

Anything else?

It is a complete disaster that the Dermatology Department has relocated from the central LGI to the middle of nowhere Chapel Allerton. In particular, the closure of the superb Ward 43 with it's wonderful single rooms which gave outstanding privacy and dignity, is a real betrayal to skin patients. The skin ward has been given a half-hearted tag-on to another ward and all the privacy and dignity for application of treatments has been removed.

The so-called Leeds Dermatology Patient Panel simply caved in and the £2.9 million which is supposed to have been spent on the move would have been better spent on upgrading Ward 43.

What we have to do now is make sure that the Department is moved back to the more accessible LGI as soon as possible.
