Anything else?
Recently my mum was admitted to hospital with sickness and diarrhoea. During the last several years our family has had some unfortunate experiences with the NHS in general; needless to say my mum was affected by this.
I am glad to say that on this occasion from the moment the paramedics arrived at her home she was in good hands. She was firstly taken to the Surgical Referrals Unit at Basildon Hospital; she was treated with respect, care and dignity. As her son, I was treated the same, kept up to date with her condition which became urgent. From the cleaners to the nurses and consultants, it went like clockwork. As a family we had confidence that my mum was taken care of. She had her urgent operation and was then moved to Kingswood Ward. The experience on this ward was also as good. My mum has called the staff ‘angels’. I agree, she was taken care of in a professional and compassionate manner. Even on her last day a nurse directed me to where I could park my car and delivered my mum to the car from the ward. Thank you all for looking after her, it means the world
