Anything else?
My mum has recently been in Royal Blackburn several times over the last four months.
Every time me and my family visited her we had to go through a crowd of patients and visitors smoking around the entrance door. They were all gathered around the entrance and parking machines. Many patients were in nightwear and in wheelchairs. I even witnessed patients smoking with a drip stand next to them and pregnant women. The non smoking signs were completely ignored and cigarette butts littered the grounds. I do not think this gives a good first impression of the hospital or the NHS in general. I think the non smoking policy should be enforced whilst on hospital property.
In conclusion, I found the staff who treated my mother very efficient and helpful but I felt very annoyed every time I went back and forth at the hospital entrance.
"A non smoking hospital?"
