"First Baby"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Anything else?

I cannot praise the Midwives, HCA's, Doctors and other staff on delivery and Ward D enough for all the help and support they gave me and my partner during the birth of our first child. Nothing was too much trouble, I had a midwife with me at all times during labour (which was very long), everyone was patient, caring, considerate, respectful and approachable at all times.

My recovery on ward D was comfortable and made pleasent by the midwives who offered 24hr support reassuring me when breast feeding wasn't going exactly to plan helping me stay motivated and focused.

Both departments were very busy yet this did not affect the level of care I recieved and at no point did I feel that anyone was too busy to help me.

The Star Buddies were also great from antenatal right though to groups in the community after the birth giving me the opportunity to ask questions as they arose relieving the stress of uncertainty.

I feel very confident that when we have a second child Blackpool Victoria Hospital will be the only place I want to be.
