"I was admitted in the middle of ..."

About: East Surrey Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted in the middle of the night around 2:30 am suffering with a possible heart attack, I was taken by a confident, reassuring ambulance crew straight to A&E where I was dealt with fairly quickly and was transfered to MAU ward by 4:40am. During my few days stay most of the staff were very hard working but never refused or delayed in carrying out patient requests. The treatment, care & understanding on this ward was excellent and although the staff worked long hours, they never flagged or slowed down in their duties. Medical staff communication was very good.

What could be improved

Hospital information could be improved, by that I mean can you purchase things, is there a shop, are there telephone facilities in fact what facilities are there that might keep a patient in contact with the outside world. In these days of IT I think a hospital patient should have the facility of knowing just what is availlable when in hospital.
