"Special thanks to the consultant and the wonderful..."

About: Wansbeck Hospital

Anything else?

I have already expressed my appreciation personally to the consultant but feel it appropriate to

to also pass my thanks on to other distinguished parties.

It was in the middle of 2012 that I had the very good privilege to be referred to the consultant for Spinal diagnosis resulting on the 4th March 2013 in Primary Anteriory Interbody Fusion surgery being carried out to my L4/5 lumber spinal area.

From the date of my very first consultation I felt so relaxed and comfortable at the way he explained the diagnosis of my problem. That same feeling continued during further visits I had and which culminated in my surgery taking place.

On the day of surgery I was nervous and daunted by the fear of the unknown taking place but he was so kind and reassuring that he took away all that apprehension. During my stay on Ward 7 he frequently visited me or telephoned the Ward for updates on my progress, this shows the total commitment he has for his patients.

There is no doubt that this is reflected by all the favourable comments made by all the staff who played a role in both my operation and recovery period within the hospital.

I thank them all for the success that has resulted in me being now discomfort free and heading towards an active life style I previously had.

Dear George

Firstly can I say that I hope that you are recovering well and continuing to receive the aftercare you need.

Thank you so much for your comments. We know that taking the time to carefully explain any diagnosis and treatment is a vital part of our care and does, as you say, make a great difference to how relaxed and prepared a patient feels. It’s very pleasing to hear that you experienced this consistently throughout your care and this took away the apprehension that you felt.

I will ensure that your kind words are shared with your consultant and all those concerned with your care. They will be more than delighted to receive them.

I wish you all the best for your continued recovery and for this new chapter in your life.

Annie
