I called NHS DIRECT on a Sunday evening at the end of Apri. I had some food stuck in my throat. They advised me to get to A & E within the hour. I checked in and it was really busy. They told me to go straight through for an assessment with a nurse. I do not have any names of staff but they were amazing! Obviously I was in a state of panic and the care was faultless. I was in a bit of pain but psychologically panicked wondering how they would remove the blockage. They handled me with care and attention and referred me to ENT for a camera.
Upon arrival at ENT they doctor called Jimmy was fabulous. He couldn't do the camera procedure there and then and asked me to come back at 7am the following morning. It was passed midnight by this time and I agreed that I felt well enough to go home and come back. At approx 1am after just arriving home Jimmy called me to ask me how I felt and tp double check I felt the same but not worse, which I clarified. I duly attended at 7am as arranged and Jimmy was still there. He welcomed me and carried out the procedure and I was in my car within no time at all. I was overall delighted with the treatment received and wish to extend my thanks.
"Overall I am delighted with the treatment from QMC"
