"I generally find delivery is prompt"

About: Adult community services / Stoma prescription service

(as the patient),

Stoma prescription moved from GP to telephone prescription service.

I generally find that I can't get through buy they do get back to me.

I generally find delivery is prompt, 1-2 days, and they have helped when I'm needing them early due to vacation.

Just once they didn't arrive that Fittleworth's sorted it when this service was out of hours.

Dear Blue48, Thank you for your posting on Patient Opinion, we appreciate your feedback on our services and we are pleased to hear that you generally receive a prompt and helpful service.

Your comments have been fed back to the Stoma Prescription Service and with regards to you generally being unable to get through on the telephone prescription line; the service, along with their service user group, are looking at how they can improve this element of our service, as we know it is often frustrating to hear a recorded message. If you would like to participate in this review, please contact Laura Shepherd on 01709 423369 and she will provide you with the details of the next meeting.

In the meantime, there are two numbers which you can call, 01709 423369 or 01709 423517 and if we are not available when you call, you can leave a recorded message and your call will be returned as soon as possible. It may also be useful to know that Mondays are extremely busy, as large numbers of people seem to choose this day to request a prescription, but as the week progresses, our phone lines do become less busy.

Alternatively, you can request your prescription using our online facility; if you would like to request a prescription via the internet, again please contact Laura on the above number and she can arrange for you to be issued with a password.

And finally, with regards to your prescription which didn’t arrive, unfortunately we cannot be certain how this problem arose without specific details of the order but we can advise that our service is mainly responsible for prescribing; delivery issues are the responsibility of either the chosen pharmacy or the delivery company. Although our service will always try to help resolve any delivery issues, it can sometimes be out of our control. Nevertheless, we are glad to hear that this was resolved for you and that you have been supported when requiring your prescription early.
