"I felt let down and forgotten"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

I saw a locum GP who advised me to "pop in" to A&E for an X-ray. The injury was over 6 months old. A&E were not happy.

I then saw another locum who was very vague about what she was going to do. She said I would need an MRI and they were expensive, I suggested an ultra sound as the injury was my wrist and she responded with "ah yeah, that's what I meant. "

I had no idea I was being referred to anyone. I felt let down and forgotten and didn't feel confident enough to go back to the GP.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am disappointed to read that you felt let down and forgotten by your GP. However, I am sure you appreciate that TRAQS are unable to comment on behalf of GP Practices. TRAQS have provided a supply of patient leaflets to all GP Practices which should be handed to all patients being referred for further care. This ensures that patients are expecting TRAQS to call and are not worried or alarmed when we ask for confidential information to confirm we are speaking to the correct person.

We hope that you are feeling better and would like to thank you again for your comments. We appreciate all feedback as it helps us develop the TRAQS service further for the benefit of all patients registered with GP Practices within the Telford and Wrekin area.
