Anything else?
I attended ED on 27/4/13 after sustaining a Right sided intra articular distal radius fracture. I was put on a back slab and a fracture clinic appointment was requested.
I registered at 00:30 and my back slab was applied at 04:30 (4hrs after registration)
However the earliest appointment that I could get was 14/5/13 which is 17 days after injury. I will have to wait for that long for a proper plaster to be applied.
This is my dominant hand and my profession depends on the use of my hand.
I may even end up with displacement of the fracture as the slab is temporary and is not designed to keep the fracture in position. As I am risking a permanent problem with my wrist by waiting so long for a full plaster, I am seriously thinking of paying for private care.
