Anything else?
I had an orthopedic day procedure last Thursday (18th April 2013). This required an overnight stay in Swan Ward.
I have to say that the two night staff - whose names I did not catch regrettably - were outstanding throughout what was clearly a very challenging night of care. My bay housed 3 high dependency elderly patients .
I have never seen two staff work so hard at a sustained rate throughout the night. My operation was trivial compared to my fellow patients - but I was still treated with compassion and professionalism through the long night.
The following morning I was anticipating my release and was dressed by 0845. I very quickly, within half an hour at most, had received a visit from the Physio, a nurse with drugs in line with the surgeon's prescription, a physio appointment the following week, a set of exercises to complete at home and an outpatient appointment for 2 weeks hence. Reps from the surgical team then arrived shortly afterwards to secure my official discharge.
This was quite simply a superb service delivered by a highly professional team within a very short space of time.
This has been a superb care experience for which I would like to pass my sincere thanks to all concerned.
