"The modern entranceway, useful ..."

About: Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath)

(as the patient),

What I liked

The modern entranceway, useful shop and cafe, sanitisation point at entrance, easy to navigate signage. Xray staff very helpful. waiting times bearable.

What could be improved

Staff don't introduce themselves, or indicate their grade (doctor/nurse/random passer-by!). They had a tendancy to call you in the waiting area and then disappear down a corridor so you'd no idea where they'd gone. I also found most staff (2/3) very non-communicative, not informing me of why they were doing things to me or what needed to be done next And even when asked they were not very forth coming. I was also told (when pushed) by an A&E staff member that i had broken a bone, only to discover later on that i hadn't and that there had never been any evidence that i had. Many staff seem to lack basic communication skills asking such questions as 'and?', or becoming rude and defensive when i tried to enquire into my condition and treatment. I understand that they may have had a busy day, but it's not my fault, i didn't injure myself on purpose, but i left feeling as though I was an unwelcome inconvenience to most of the staff members i met.
