"Delay to dress a wound"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

Feedback received by South Western Ambulance Service via our Have Your Say leaflet.

Despite a TIA being diagnosed at hospital, A&E attendance was not required. However, disappointed that the Paramedic in attendance was unable to dress a wound on my Grandad's wrist and we had to wait for someone else to attend much later in the evening.

This feedback was supplied to the South Western Ambulance Service via one of our Have Your Say leaflets.

Unfortunately, without specific details relating to the incident it is not possible to say why a member of staff was unable to dress a wound. However, it is possible that the wound required some specific skills to facilitate the closure and this procedure would be performed by a suitably qualified member of staff.

We are always very grateful for all feedback submitted to our Trust and will use this information to help inform our service developments.

Sara
