"my 12yr old son visit to A&E with a broken radious..."

About: Kettering General Hospital

Anything else?

My son broke his radious and we went to 8-8 in corby and they then done half the treatment and sent us on to kettering A& E. On arrival to departure we all were treated with full respect, time and care.

They assesde himm and asked if he would like to go under anesthetic or gas and air and manipulate the bone into place there and then? he was so reasured with the lady Ostrpath and nurse he said do it it now...they explained the procedure in full and all through it they comforted hi and reassured him even at the end what a brave lad he was.

The nurse that helped then guided us to xray and again the lady in there was lovely asking if he would like mum in or on his own....To then when we as parents sat outside another nurse in the xray department came to check we were ok...

The nurse then who helped with the manipulation then talked us through that the consultants will talk in the morning to check ne xrays to see if he need to come back in or not...advice when to let him last eat and what time to expect a call (she was correct in timing) the receptionist made us a plaster appointment just incase he didn't have to come back in on the tuesday, so we were ahead to and booked wednesday first thing...

I feel we all had a great ease free visit to A&E on Monday 22nd 2013, the care, empathy, understanding of his needs, communication was at a high standard...even though i felt the A&E was overwhelmingly busy for a monday evening.

Thank you all again
