"Abysmal A&E service"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

Attended on Thursday 18th April at 23:45 with my brother in law who had a foreign object (Rusty Screw) embedded 16mm into his heel.

Triaged and X-Rayed by 00:15, finally seen by a doctor and treated at 06:45 (7 hours after arrival).

Astounded to see the minor injuries unit closed at 2am, minor patients then filtered through amongst the majors, approximately 1 patient per hour called through.

Notice board waiting time changed from 4 hour to 5 hour wait at about 06:00.

Majority of minor patients gave up in disgust and went home.

No pain relief offered at any time, including when the screw was pulled out of his foot.
