"Lacking basic caring"

About: Solihull Hospital

Anything else?

My elderly relative was readmitted into ward 12 having caught C.difficile after a shorter admission. I visited over the weekend and was appalled for many reasons. She has really deteriorated physically and is extremely low in spirits. Out of the three visits I made I asked for someone to help move her into a more comfortable position twice and both times they said they'd get someone to help and didn't come back. The same with medication; twice there was medication left and she was unable to pick it up with her hands. No one had checked she had taken it. She is hardly eating and no one appears to be checking her food/liquid intake. She is desperate to get out and be cared for at home. Her dignity and self-respect have been completely eroded. It's painful and very distressing to witness.
