"Some excellent staff but some very poor too."

Anything else?

It's hard to answer these questions really because some staff will bend over backwards to help and others are downright rude. When my husband had been having the most horrendous headaches (due to an un-diagnosed brain tumour), he had to wait for around 4 hrs in A&E without any pain killers. He was in extreme pain, pacing around. The doctor then told him that his (my husband's) suggestion that he might have cluster headaches was correct. I felt that he was far to quick to jump on my husbands diagnosis. We found out about a week later that he had a brain tumour. One time my husband was brought to hospital in an ambulance after a fit. He came into A&E and one of the staff made an extremely insensitive comment about him. She basically said (as he had a brain tumour), "Oh we can't do anything about that." It was like he was dead already and not human. My husband went to B3 for assessment before he had an MRI scan. The sister on B3 was amazingly good at her job considering how busy it was but one of the male nurses was extremely rude to me when I enquired if I could stay with my husband as it was thought that he might have a brain tumour. I was very upset and all I had wanted was a yes or no, not a telling off! On all of the wards you have to wait to be let in and out and can be standing at the door for ages. It's a rather silly system as it mean that the nurses are constantly having to open the door and they obviously get fed up of doing it and the visitors get fed up of waiting. This makes for tension that is just not good in an already tense environment.
