"Accident and Emergency"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as a relative),

My husband was rushed into Medway A+E following a suspected gastric bleed.

We received excellent care from the paramedic /ambulance staff and all staff at A+E. The nurses where kind and caring and help calm me down too. The only bad comment I have is that the cubical we were put into had not been properly cleaned down after the pervious patient.

All in all I was very happy with the level of care my husband received.

I am extremely sorry to hear you found the facilities were not up to satisfactory standards but pleased to hear you were happy with the level of care your husband received. The Emergency Department and Trust as a whole have been extremely busy and up to capacity for most of the time last month, but cleaning should be a basic standard. I am currently in the process of employing extra support staff to help clean the cubicle areas at a quicker rate, particularly during very busy times. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and if you wish to discuss anything further, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
