"Poor aftercare"

About: Basildon University Hospital

Anything else?

I had an operation for a prolapsed bladder yesterday. I was admitted to the elected admissions ward, where everyone was very helpful and kind. Theatre staff were great and friendly, putting me at ease before the op. I spent a long time in the recovery room waiting for a bed on a ward. I was eventually admitted to BDU ward. I spent a sleepless night in a bed near the nurses station, where they laughed and spoke loudly all night. This morning I was told to get up and get dressed. The drs did their rounds but didn't see me, I was told I was discharged. Given some painkillers and sent on my way. No advice on what u could & couldn't do, not examined or anything. I left in tears. Disgraceful.
