Anything else?
My mum is currently a patient in Chaucer Ward and has been for the last 3 weeks. She is elderly and was quite frightened after suffering a fall at home. The staff in her ward, from staff sisters, nurses, physios and the lovely ladies bringing the meals have all treated my mum with the most fantastic care and devotion. Chaucer ward is mainly for the elderly and those needing rehabillitation after suffering strokes. Many of their patients need help with the most basic of tasks and even though some of the assistance the nursing staff give can be very personal they always give the patients the dignity they deserve. The Chaucer ward staff carry out, sometimes the most unpleasant tasks always with good humour and kindness. They have managed to make a worrying time for my mum and her family as stress free as possible and all the staff have been an example in how to do a demanding and not particularly financially rewarding job with care, compassion and empathy,
