I was sent to the A+E eye department yesterday early evening with a letter from specsavers with regards my 7 year old daughters sight as on routine examination my child could only see with blurred vision.we sat patiently and were seen by a nice doctor whom then referred my child to st marys for an appointment which would be in a week or two,the doctor did tell me if she got worse then not to hesitate to come back as quote "we are open 24 hours,monitor her at home".I have unfortunately returned this evening as my daughters pupils were Huge and dilated also before making the decision to return I stopped at a different opticians who was concerned enough to send me with a letter after he had examined her eyes he also contacted the hospital by phone.I am still shocked by the utter disregard she was treated with,seen by a doctor whom made unprofessional comments with regard to the optician we seen today also made remarks of how many years experience they had and that the person we seen yesterday at the hospital did not have the experience they had might I add all this person is doing is referring my child to st marys hospital but we can only hope she gets seen on Friday instead of 2 weeks away,I expressed my concerns with regard her Vision coming and going and they were by far the most uncompationate individual I have ever come across equally so was the triage nurse who attempted to tell me they would quote"put drops to dilate" as I attempted to point out the obvious my child's eyes are blue and at the time were so dilated they looked black as I tried to explain they talked over me so I asked them if I could finish needless to say no drops were put in her eyes as they didn't need to be.I could go on and on,all I asked was questions any parent would.
