About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Anything else?

On calling to enquire about a family friend I was told that I had called at hand over time and to call back when it was more convenient for the staff!

No I don't think so

Shocking

We are very sorry that you feel that you have had a bad experience when telephoning the hospital. Unfortunately, when staff are finishing their shift they have to conduct a detailed hand over to the staff who are just beginning their shift. This is vital and ensures continuity of care and allows for exchange of clinical information relating to all of the patients within that area/ward. For this reason the it can be extremely busy at this time and can be difficult for staff to engage in conversations with relatives or friends, as any interruptions to the process could result in information being missed or forgotten which could have devastating effects on patient care. We do hope that your friend recovers well. If there is anything we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards The PALS Team (SG)
