"Incomptence"

About: Good Hope Hospital

Anything else?

I was called stating there’s a cancellation & that I can have my total hip replacement done. I frantically rearranged work & my life to have this long awaited appointment.

Two days later I was called stating that it had been cancelled because the doctor was sick & that they can offer me a later date.

I went through the whole admittance process & even had the arrow placed on the area for operation. Having waited for a couple of hours I was told there wasn’t a bed space so once again cancelled.

While undressing, at times I was exposed to people passing because the curtains didn’t stay closed. A window was open to which I could see out & feared someone could see me while undressing. On the surface of the window were a lot of bugs though there was a mess stopping them from coming in.

The sister on the ward needs to go on a course on how to be more compassionate while still been in charge. Didn’t like her bossy tone!

It appears that these doctors are making it up as they go along regarding my treatment. In previous consultation & written proof which clearly states uncemented hip replacement was contradicted by this unknown doctor whom I’ve only heard of from my appointment letter decides I’m having cemented instead.

Having already read up on the both of them I’m reluctant to follow his request as I feel there’s no communication going on about my health.

I’d like to lodge a complaint about the whole ordeal but understand its will be falling on deaf ears, so the nearest thing to off loading my dissatisfaction is to post it here.
