I had both these scans on the same day (HSG later), and I was very worried about the HSG as it was the first time (I've had the other scan before so knew what was coming). I was very pleased with the staff that performed both the scans, they were very approachable and made me feel very, very comfortable.

The nurse who did my internal scan was very kind and spoke to me during the scan, explaining what was going on and what she could see. She was also very patient when I asked her many questions about my condition.

The HSG sounds quite scary, and although I did feel some discomfort, I did not realise when the contrast was inserted (which is a good thing, as I was expecting it to be painful). The nurse and doctor kept talking to me explaining what was happening and also kept asking me if I was ok. They were very polite and nice.

I wish to thank both the staff in the Gynaecology department of Northwick Park and the staff at the HSG department at St. Marks for helping me feel at ease.

I would recommend anyone who has to go through either of these procedures to visit Northwick Park and St. Marks.
