About: Peterborough City Hospital

Anything else?

My mother was admitted on a number of occasions to your facility in the last 9 months. She is by the way 90 years young and has full control of her faculties. I cannot say her care was fantastic or otherwise since I live in America. I know that each time she came home she said she had been left confused and frustrated with the happenings in your hospital. She was moved many times to different wards at an hour of the night that most people are settling down to rest. This I must question, why?

I have come to your site to read other peoples reviews to help me understand what is happening. I notice you only reply to the positive messages and not the less favorable ones!

I would think that compassion is extremely important to one and all, but for the aging population who have worked and helped Britain grow it is more so important for them to feel that they are being considered and cared for with concern and human dignity. Don't assume they are not able to understand!

Hopefully she will have a better experience next time, for at her advanced young age I am sure it will!

Thank you for your comments and I am sorry to hear that your mother has had to be admitted to hospital in the last few months. We try very hard not to move patients, particularly late at night, as we do recognise that this can be confusing for them. I would be happy to look at the reasons behind your mother’s moves if you would like to provide me with more information such as her name etc.

In respect of our use of Patient Opinion the Trust has been using Patient Opinion since July 2013. In July I was tasked with responding to all of the comments made on the website since that time and I can assure you that all comments since July have a response irrespective of whether they are good or bad. I am sorry if you were looking at comments before that time.

As a Trust we are committed to using patient feedback to improve the quality of care we give to all of our patients, their relatives and carers and we have found Patient Opinion to be an excellent medium through which to receive feedback.

If you do wish to discuss the care your mother received please do not hesitate to email me at lesley.crosby@pbh-tr.nhs.uk.

In order for us to look into these issues further and provide you with feedback it would be helpful if you would contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01733 673405 or email pals@pbh-tr.nhs.uk

We take all comments from patients and visitors seriously and strive to ensure that we use them to continuously improve patient experiences.
