The experience at this treatment centre is excellent. From my arrival at Reception at 7.30am in the morning till my departure the following day I felt that everyone involved did a very caring and professional job. On arrival I was allocated a room very quickly and seen by a nurse and checked in. The anaethetist and consultant came to speak to me and they ensured I knew what was going to happen. Due to being last on the list my wait was long but they ensured I was able to drink up to an appropriate time for the operation and kept me informed of the situation. All staff involved in the theatre from receiving my anaesthetic till recovery were excellent. They made me feel at ease and after the operation made sure my pain was under control. On returning to the ward checks were carried out regularly to ensure I was ok. Due to the lateness of my surgery I needed to stay overnight and this was very comfortable due to receiving appropriate pain medication. I received a good breakfast in the morning and was discharged mid morning with medication and dressings (these were waterproof so made showering possible at home). I received a call the next day to check all was well. I was shown physiotherapy exercises for after the operation and received further at an outpatients appointment 5 days later. All of the care and thought put into the small things have made this a very positive experience. Well done to everyone involved.
