Anything else?
I was very impressed by the short waiting time at a and e but disgusted by the rest of my experience. I was left on a dirty trolley with questionable brown stains on it and no sheets in a side room. I was in a lot of pain and was rudely ordered to lay down although due to the area I had pain would have been much more comfortable standingor at least sitting. The room I was in had a chart left there with some one else s chart in with their obs on and personal info such as name ect and the room was where blankets were stored on a kind of trolley on wheels. A member of staff kept coming in to get blankets without knocking or even acknowledging me and considering I had been given a tablet to insert anally and a gown to change into I thought this was disgusting and very bad manners on her part. I had an internal examination and if it wasn't for the doctor putting the linen trolley in front of the door some one would have walked in twice exposing me to the rest of the department. Needless to say having some one rattle the door twice trying to get in for linen whilst you are facing the door with your legs open having an internal is an awful experience and having the doctor have to shout at them to go away is enough to Make anyone cry, which at this point I did. I was sent for a scan but staff forgot to bring me water so I had to find some one to help me. On the plus side I was dealt with by a very lovely nurse and the consultant doctor was very good and knowledgeable. I was b very distressed by my experience at a and e and would not ever go back if I ever became ill again, this is a total contrast to the wonderful care I received on ward 4c for which I will do a review for and can't recommend highly enough.
