"I have never managed to prebook a GP appointment in 8 years"

I have been trying to get an appointment for my child at our local G. P surgery and it is impossible! -No appointments - No prebookable appointments.

Iv been offered before to come in and wait after five o clock and hope to be seen.

In the 8 years I have been with this surgery I have never been able to make an appointment in advance. Firstly I struggle to get through to the reception at all then if I get through to reception im told there's no appointments and I cannot book for the next day.

Now that the G. P's are in control and are able to commission their own services as they see fit, you would think understanding their customers (ie patients) would be top of their agenda. They have their budget to spend and this appointment debacle is an ongoing problem that needs addressing.

Its absolutly depolorable that somebody should have to take their child to A &E for a reaccuring issue which isn't an emergancy and needs to be seen by a G. P.

As I am more than willing to take my child to a walk in centre or A&E I will, but for a non urgent appointment I should be seeing a doctor.

I feel the system is not effective and poor and needs to be revised to ensure that all patients at the surgery can get the treatment they deserve.
