What I liked
I was recently in the Endoscopy Department at musgrove, and being only 19 i was really nervous and quite upset about the whole thing, but the nurses we're very kind and understanding. i was meant to have a male and female nurse with me but they changed it to two female nurses as they thought this would make me more comfortable, which it did, as they explained they we're both mothers this made me calm down a bit and one of them sat with me and held my hand the whole time. thank you.
Also the nurse i had to explain the proceedure to me, and dicuss anything i wanted to ask was lovely and made me smile which was really nice when all you want to do is cry. they all made my time in hospital a lot more comforting :)
What could be improved
All the nurses in endoscopy were amazing, really kind and supportive. the only thing i was unhappy about was when i was sent to another department to have blood taken, and having a phobia of needles i had my partner with me to hold my hand as he always does. but he was told he had to sit in the corner, and the nurse did not talk to me to try and make me feel less uneasy. it was quite distressing, especially after being treated so wonderfully in the endoscopy department.
