About: Medway Maritime Hospital

Anything else?

my husband is undergoing treatment or vascular problems to his right leg and inbetween being seen by nurse at clinic and having an urgent ultra sound scan was contacted next day to be told that he needed an angiogram for both lower limbs while awaiting for the appointment to arrive i had to ring up for a dr to visit as the back of right knee had swollen and he was having difficulty in walking my husband is( 65yrs old bythe way ) and was in extreme pain the dr then decided that he needed to admitted as he was not happy and stated he could not see inside the blood vessels to know what was happening sent my husband in by ambulance with letter stateing the reason it now appears that somewhere between kingfisher ward where he was taken to at nearly midnight and pheonix ward where he is now he is being treated for constipation (dont know where this has come from) and not the main reason for what he was admitted the blockages he has are not in the bowel but his blood vessels in his legs when trying to explain to staff was just rather rudely told constipation had to be ruled out (didnt know blood vessels could be constipated) also it appears that there was no sign of what the dr who wanted him admitted attached to details in his records on his bed so would like to know where the information sent by the dr has vanished to between these wards

I am very sorry to hear about your husband's experience of using vascular services. Your comments have been noted and shared with the relevant teams and individuals. It seems that communication has not been clear and this needs to be addressed so your feedback is very much appreciated.

I will need more details from you to be able to respond to your concerns more directly. Please contact me if you would like to discuss these issues in more detail.
