Anything else?
I was unfortunate enough in an otherwise healthy life to experience a health scare on Saturday the 23rd March. I found myself in A&E at Basildon Hospital. I want you to publish this response to put a positive slant on the slurs currently levied against the hospital.
I was treated with excellent care and courteousness in A&E by the medical and nursing staff, this continued when I was admitted to Pasteur ward. I was discharged and followed up in outpatients by the stroke consultant and specialist nurse, another professional experience, and whilst I was waiting for an MRI I again met with staff who showed upmost care for patients in the department. The eperience restored my faith in this vital but clearly overstretched service.
I hope this response is published because the newspapers both local and national and the TV news like to publish all the faillings (no news like bad news) but there are thousands of us on the recieving end of great quality care and professionalism but unfortunatly we forget to shout it from the roof tops when we leave the hospital exits. So come on people of Thurrock and Basildon, if you have had a good eperience in our hospital, speak up and shout it. whilst there are times things do go wrong, we do not want a system like our cousins across the pond who love litigation so ignore the dissatisfied minority who chase the NHS Golden Goose! I suggest the campaign Back it, Dont whack it.
