"Trip to A&E"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I had to visit casualty in late March having scratched the surface of my eyes. I arrived at 12. 15 ish at night. I was in a great deal of pain and couldn't see. I was scared and couldn't see. I work within the NHS and know about the pressures on the service so was concerned. However I didn't need to be. I was seen promptly and efficiently by an excellent junior doctor and was back home in about 2 hours. Thank you very much.

Dear Tess,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at University Hospital.

The care and attention we give to our patients 24 hours a day remains our key focus and I’m delighted the service met your expectations.

I will ensure that all staff in the Emergency Centre are made aware of your comments and that their hard work is appreciated.

Kevin Parker – Matron, Emergency Medicine
