About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Anything else?

I have been unfortunate to have two stays in this hospital, the first being in cardiology and the second on the assessment ward. In the emergency dept I was treated like a second class citizen. The cardiology dept was a ok but as a younger patient felt a little out of place. The surgical assessment ward was a terrible experience,on arrival I was left for more than two hrs before anyone even spoke to me.I take many medications one of which is a betta blocker which is as you can imagine a important medication. After a uncomfortable night I woke and asked for my medications to be told they haven't got my beta blocker! I was on a drip which was hanging from a curtain and asked to use the toilet, the nurse unhooked the drip and told me she would hang it up for me after. An hr later I had to go and find someone to hang it for me( I'm only 4ft 10) as I could not reach. After much waiting.and no medication I took it upon myself to leave.
